Clinical Interests

Dr Kate Moors is a general paediatrician who looks after children from birth to 18 years. Kate has expertise managing children and young people with medical, behavioural, and developmental difficulties. Her interests are wide-ranging. Medically, these include asthma, eczema, sleep, constipation, wetting, slow growth and unsettled or ex-premature babies. Kate also has skills in diagnosing and managing developmental delay, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), speech and language delay, learning difficulties, anxiety, and aggressive behaviour.

Background & Experience

Kate graduated with honours from the University of Melbourne in 2008. She has been working in paediatrics since 2011 at the Royal Children’s Hospital and other hospitals throughout Victoria. In her training she has had experience across areas such as community health, general medicine, neonates and adolescent medicine.

Kate moved from Melbourne to Launceston in 2021 with her family. She currently also works as a consultant paediatrician at the Launceston General Hospital and teaches medical students at the University of Tasmania.

Practice Philosophy

Kate believes that to provide quality care, we need to understand each individual child’s and family’s strengths and goals. The best outcomes also come from working together with members of the child’s and family’s wider community such as school, allied health, and other medical professionals. Kate has two young children herself and has great empathy for the common stressors of family life which many of us face.
